As always, April’s Electronic Tuesdays lineup showcases underground DJs and producers from around the globe, each ready to bring their own unique flavor of bass music to The Black Box. The music speaks for itself, but while you’re listening, here’s what you need to know about this month’s E-Tuesdays headliners.
Quest & Silkie (event page)
Dubstep pioneers (and Denver favorites) Quest and Silkie return to the Basscouch system on 4/3. On the decks, the Antisocial Records and Deep Medi associates are partners in crime. Each boasting deep collections of foundational tracks, unreleased future classics, and especially their own productions, the duo promises to grace Denver with a colorful interpretation of dubstep that often challenges the genre’s dark, sullen reputation.

Champion (event page)
Champion hits E-Tuesdays on 4/10 with his fresh, contagiously danceable brand of UK bass music. The London-based DJ and producer is a leader in a new generation of artists refreshing and re-inventing original styles like bassline house, garage, and grime for a today’s low-end-obsessed audience. As a respected global representative for modern UK-rooted sounds, Champion’s DJ sets are defined by innovation, education, and their infectious effect on the dance floor.

Sepia (event page)
After opening the Sub.mission 10 year anniversary last April, Sepia is back by popular demand, this time on a bill of his own. The UK-based DJ and producer is among the most exciting (and excited) artists to emerge in today’s dubstep scene. With releases on labels including Deep Dark & Dangerous, White Peach Records, Gourmetbeats, and Infernal Sounds, Sepia’s productions are pervasive - if you don’t know his name, you’re likely familiar with his tunes. On the buttons, the producer’s patient attention to detail and melodic flair define his ever-evolving sound. On the decks, Sepia is a relentless force of personality. His sets reflect a boundless musical appetite and affinity for upturning expectations. Rather than stick to one BPM or genre, Sepia prefers to leave something on the dance floor that wasn’t there when he started - but not at the expense of the dubstep he’s known for.

Bloodline (event page)
Dubstep’s founding fathers Hatcha and Youngsta make the Denver debut of their collaborative project to top off April. The name Bloodline suggests the duo’s intent to carry on the genre legacy that they shaped themselves. Expect a non-stop barrage of brand new bangers, familiar classics blended so expertly they may be mistaken for exclusives, and of course the irreplicable energy that always enshrouds these legendary DJs on the decks.
