A lot of DJ’s can be put into a category or genre. That’s not true for Hudson Mohawk or as we like to call him, "HudMo." The music he plays and produces comes in all different genres and sounds. His early beginnings as a hip hop DJ landed him a spot in the UK DMC finals. The DMC is one of the most prestigious and well-known DJ competitions in the world. At the time he went by the name DJ Itchy and he was the youngest DJ to ever to make it to the UK DMC finals. Rarely do we hear about a hip hop DJ playing happy hardcore but HudMo is no ordinary DJ. He shared his love and passion for happy hardcore in his hometown of Glasgow by spinning the fast tempo (180 BPM) music at local bars. His love for hardcore music was unparalleled but he remained a hip hop head at heart and continued to pursue his passion for hip hop music and working with mainstream rappers.
Hudson Mohawke teamed up with Lunice for a project entitled TNGHT. Through this project they pushed the boundaries of hip hop and trap music to a new realm. The hard hitting 808, unique sounds and samples along with low end bass made dance floors move across the world. This project lead to a collaboration with Kanye West entitled, “Blood on the Leaves” and appeared on the Kanye West album, “Yeezus.” He continued to collaborate with Kanye West and eventually signed to Kanye’s label, GOOD Music.
With a rich and brilliant background of rave and hip hop music it is no surprise that HudMo creates some of the most forward thinking and diverse music right now. Even though he’s busy touring he always makes time to produce music no matter where he is, even if it’s on the plane. HudMo has been known to push out a couple of bangers on a flight.
His music is contagious and we can’t wait for more. Check out one of his latest collaboration with AHONI and Oneohtrix Point Never:

On Tuesday, we get to witness the amazing sounds of HudMo, currently on his “Smoachella Tour,” just a couple days after he plays Coachella “Weekend 2.” We are very excited to see and hear what one of the most remarkable DJ’s has in store for us in Denver at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom. No matter what kind of genre you like this is a must see. Who knows we may even hear some music that has not been classified into a genre yet. Either way, the bass will be heavy and the dance floor packed. See you in the dance.
Get to know HudMo
DMVU is one Denver’s brightest producers. Wait, DMVU is one of Denver’s darkest produces. No wait, who is DMVU? He is well-known for making music he likes. It could be bright and fresh or deep and dark. He’s not out to impress anyone or make the latest and coolest dubstep tune but he continues to impress us with his production. DMVU music can be music to dance to, music to drive to, music to meditate to or music to finish off that bottle of sizzurp you’ve been saving for a special occasion. He has a beat for almost every mood and we are anticipating his set in Denver at Cervantes’ The Other Side. Hold on to your guts, this one is going to rattle your insides.

Hailing from Virgina, Ethan Glass brings heat with his special style of trippy and trappy bass music. His EP, "Molten Chore" sounds like an acid trip down East Colfax. We are in for quite a ride this Tuesday in Denver at Cervantes' The Other Side.
