The heat in Denver is seriously rising and its not due to summer! No doubt by now you’ve been getting pummeled with fire line up after fire line and and needless to say Sub.mission isn’t planning on stopping. Last month was such an amazing time as we had the return of Sukh Knight & Squarewave, Yheti and Flava D, a return to Sonic Bloom and the Denver debut of legendary bad men RDG & K Man. Each night was so special in its own way and had some serious local talent on support and in the battles. This month is no different as we bring back one of your all time favorite dubstep heavy hitters and have a Denver debut of a grime legend, a debut of an up and coming grime MC and a debut of one the fastest rising stateside dubstep producers out of the Bay Area. So whether you know or are in the know, get ready for this edition of This Month In Bass.
Getting us started in the first edition of July Electronic Tuesdays on July 5th is the return of the one and only Compa!! Hailng all the way from the UK and internationally known as one of the rudest bad boys in the realm of dubstep, Compa has a sound that is unmistakable and to this day stays true to his roots as one of the few remaining DJ’s in dubstep that plays strictly vinyl. We can only speculate about the amount of dubplates possibly getting rinsed that night but judging by his last E-Tuesday appearance we’re about to get murdered on the dance floor. Joining Compa we have New York dubsteppers and all around bad men Wasteman and Max Mischief going back to back along with fellow NYC MC OG Ninja PLUS the January Winners Showcase battle between Boss Mode, Counterfeit Rainbow, & Waylo to start off the night! We’d say that this is a proper way to start off July, would you agree?
Next up on July 12th we have the Denver debut of one of, if not the top Grime DJ/Producer in the UK. Sir Spyro is widely recognized and respected for his flawless mixing skills and beyond proper track selection. Entering his 10th year on London’s pioneering Rinse FM, his weekly “Grime Show” is regarded as the “go to” show for everything you need to know about and coming from the Grime scene. His skills and services are so sought after that they were acquired to compile and mix the “Pure Grime” double CD, which broke into the top 40 album charts upon its released. Joining him on support is Sub.mission Resident Subliminal and local rude gal Siren! Subliminal always delivers the most proper sets and if you haven’t caught Siren yet then you’re in for a treat because she absolutely smashes every dance floor she touches.
Coming in all the way from West London, join us on July 19th as we welcome break through Grime MC, AJ Tracey! Since the release of his debut EP 'The Front' in 2015, AJ Tracey has been making some serious noise with his ruthless and iconic sound that is unmistakable. His 2nd EP release, 'Alex Moran', proves he is a true force to be reckoned with in the realm of grime and we absoluetly can't wait to properly welcome him to the Mile High City for his Denver debut with Low Life NYC & rwd.fm bad man Oblig! As if this night wasn’t already stacked we have Sub.mission homie Crix Saiz & Sub.mission resident Curlyone on support!!
Finishing off July Electronic Tuesdays, on July 26th we have the Denver debut of bay area rude boy Saule! With backing from some of the biggest names in the industry such as Joe Nice, Mala, Beezy, N-Type, and many more, Saule is one of the hottest emerging talents representing stateside undergroud dubstep.
His tunes have set dance floors on fire throughout the globe and he's one of the prime artists putting the US on the map in today's global bass music scene. Joining him on stage are some of Colorado's sickest up and coming locals. Denver bad man Myxed Up will be on support alongside Sub.mission residents Dillard and Sektah. We’re going to be celebrating Sektah’s birthday so you know this night is going to get rowdy. You’ve been warned!
July is seriously bringing the heat in more ways than one. We have a seriously proper mix of grime and dubstep and between all the supporting artists who knows what other spectrums we’ll be chasing this month. It truly is a blessing to be in a city with a scene that is constantly brining both old and new talent to our front door each and every week. It doesn’t just stop with music either. Make sure you check all the Facebook events for chances to win “meet & greets” and production clinics with the headliners. Also don’t forget to get to each event early to see who is going head to head in the weekly Electronic Tuesdays DJ battle. This month we have DJ’s OldGold, New Renaissance, Crismic, Elliot Mess, Fastlife, Universal Knowledge, Viscaria, SeamzLegit, Gump, Eleven. ThirtySeven, Gahlaktus and Sin 7 all going head to head for a slot in the “July Winners Round” next month and they all have some serious muscle to flex so you know the battles are going to be awesome. We hope youre planning on buying a new pair of dancing shoes after this month because come August you’re definitely going to need them ;)
We’ll see you in the dance!
