Hustle Knowledge: Flava D
As those that have been attending Sub.mission events for awhile have learned dubstep has often been compared to a gateway for all musical styles to coalesce within the realm of electronically produced dance music. Due to how Electronic Music is produced, every good Producer/DJ will have at least a few exclusives aka “dubs” in their arsenal for most shows which they play. For those that love the parties that Sub.mission throws Every Tuesday at Cervantes, Electronic Tuesdays has brought headliners from across seas to provide some of the ultimate experiences and endings to the DJ Battles which kick off every Tuesday. With this edition Sub.mission has done something extra special by bringing out a talented, artistically gifted, young lady who produces music within genres that may surprise some to be considered as roots and sister genres of dubstep: Grime, Garage, and House. 
Flava D’s career has long been in the making and has now reached global prominence. From reading about her from various other sources, one can garner that she is extremely dedicated to her craft of producing certified bangers. Citing her tendency to stay home and work on music from a young age, while others were out partying, explains her growing legend and success. Fully embodying her chosen roles of Producer/DJ within the realm of rave music Flava D consistently amazes crowds across the globe with not only her prowess behind the decks but by the qualities and merits of the tunes and songs which she creates herself. Lately two of her exclusives have been launching club nights and raves into overdrive and any soundboys that want to steal her dubs will answer for it (Beezle Dub - Flava D, Rhythm & Gash - Flava D RMX , Bump & Grind - Flava D ). Listening to her music transcend generic boundaries to create a style uniquely her own inspires on a level that is difficult to describe with mere words, connecting with listeners on a soulful level. 
Perhaps the most impressive thing to me about Flava D’s music is the sheer amount of other growing and established legends she has worked with, particularly many of Grime’s best MCs. She has produced tracks for Wiley (Wiley - Step 3 Freestyle (Prod. by Flava D) ; and Wiley - Step 18 Freestyle (Prod. by Flava D) ), Kozzie (Right Now - Kozzie (Prod. by Flava D) ), Frisco feat. D Double E (Grime Lord - Frisco (Feat. D Double E; Prod. by Flava D) ), and many others. For those passionate about UKG it’s pretty safe to say that Flava D has long been the princess of that genre with few to none contending for her crown.
For those fans of hers who wish to learn about her on a more personal level, one need only to check out her website (Flava Dubs), where she has released a compilation of tunes and songs which she considers to be her most personal works. Her More Love album ignites passionate feelings in practically anyone willing to listen to it with an open mind including: Love (duh), anger (check out her War Dub), compassion, happiness, sadness, togetherness, loneliness, and a broad spectrum of many others causing one to take a few minutes (for a tune) to an hour (or so for the album) to sit back and appreciate life. For those gentlemen and ladies willing to pay a bit extra for her tunes definitely do so because you will get hooked up with VIPs, digital pictures of album artwork including one of Flava D herself, and a handwritten note to her fans and supporters.
If I had to guess about some of her likes, I would say she enjoys Hennessy, Star Wars, jerseys, hats, tattoos, and the company of her crew of fellow artists. Currently she is a part of the Butterz label and crew with fellow artists Royal-T, Swindle, Elijah and Skilliam. Butterz label has a serious premier-level eminence within the global underground bass music community. Perhaps best well known in Denver for the massive love that Swindle has shown to the fans and the supporters here (D-E-N-V-E-R), Butterz releases music that often has a richer, more in-depth and soulful production value than other competing labels or crews, mostly within the realm of the same three genres which Flava D produces (Royal-T being more of the house flavor, Elijah and Skilliam being more along the lines of grime, and Swindle falling into a class all his own of what I like to call future jazz-step music).
Sub.mission is beyond stoked to be having her come to Colorado to share her music with her fans and followers.
