Remember, remember the month of November, the sound systems, bass lines and drops… The year is winding down but Sub.mission definitely is not and now that October is in the bag and we’re all about as recovered as we can get from our Halloween festivities it’s time to move forward into November. Sub.mission has a serious line up of amazing talent coming through to the Mile High at E Tuesdays, The Walnut Room and Bar Standard this month so whether you’re in the know or just want to know a little bit more about what’s going on, who’s coming and when; get settled in and prepare yourself for this edition of This Month In Bass.
First up is Electronic Tuesdays and this month is completely packed with nights you don’t want to miss. We start off with the long awaited arrival of the one and only Troyboi alongside local rude boys Subliminal and Castle Keys taking over the Cervantes Ballroom. Hailing from south London, this man has seemingly taken the industry by storm as one of the fastest rising producers of the trap sound. After the massive releases with Flosstradamus, Diplo and more recently Stooki Sound; Denver more is ready to welcome Troyboi to the Mile High with open arms. The following weeks we have the Electronic Tuesday’s debut of UK bass music master AMIT with Recon Drum and Bass boss Despise and Sub.mission resident Dillard, bad man Quest comes to The Otherside with Dubwol & Caustik and we finish off the month with the Electronic Tuesdays Danksgiving Special with a bday set from Thanom and b2b sets from Ind33p, Myxed Up, CurlyOne, Subliminal, Swayd and Sektah. Also at E Tuesdays this month in the winners round of the battles we have Mohntee, Goldyloxx & Siren going to head to head for the top spot on November 5th right before TroyBoi and battling in the following weeks is Endo, Crismic, Zonra, Hite, Rem & Ryuk, Sognar, Tanner Buffy & Titan. The line up in this month’s edition of E Tuesdays is ridiculous so don’t sleep on any of these events, that’s what Wednesdays are for ;)
Next up we have the long awaited Innamind Recordings take over @ The Walnut Room w/ Karma, Kursk, Caustik, Dillard & Trisicloplox on November 14th. Founded in 2011, Innamind Recordings continues to raise the bar for the future bass sound by delivering an international diverse family of artists representing many countries, including Finland, Turkey and England, who present the freshest and most earth shattering sounds to come from a sound system. Representing the label are the legendary master selectors Karma and Kursk. Both are among the "elite" in the dubstep sound and are true masters of their craft. There’s no doubt you’re going to get some serious “dubplate education” at this event. I know much of the sub.massive has been waiting to see Karma for quite some time and the fact that Kursk is along for the ride with some of our favorite locals and Sub.mission residents is a serious treat. Plus the Walnut Room itself is the perfect venue for how intimate this show is going to be AND they serve pizza. So if you’re a fan of pizza, beer and proper dubstep there’s no excuse for you not to be here.
Lastly we have the debut of the new monthly, Standard Saturdays. This new night is going to be the only spot to go to on Saturday nights because each Saturday is hosted by a different Denver bass tribe and those that were at the sneak peek last month will tell you that this new night is about to be something very special. Sub.mission hasn’t been in the SoCo district in quite some time and those of us that remember the "Sutra" days know that when proper bass music comes South of Colfax things tend to get SERIOUS. With that being said, Sub.mission debuts its new night at Bar Standard on November 23rd with Lx One , Caustik, Ind33p & Bean. For those that are unfamiliar, Lx One is sitting at the forefront of the deep, dark & moody sound with chart topping solo productions and massive collaborations alongside SP:MC, Icicle (Freeze) & Youngsta. He is not only highly skilled on the decks but also a very talented and experienced MC, having toured countless times around the UK & Europe. He is the preferred host for BBC’s J:Kenzo, the Icicle live shows, a resident MC for Shogun Audio, Wheel & Deal and a regular at Metalheadz, Exit Records, Critical & Fabric. Needless to say that having him in a place like Bar Standard is going to be a very intimate experience and one that will set the tone for months to come. Standard Saturdays is the new spot for the underground heads so make sure you’re there for this very special and memorable kick off to what is going to be an amazing monthly event.
This is definitely a lot to take in but as we all know in Denver we go hard and there is no rest for the wicked. With Tuesdays going strong, a monumental record label take over that is basically a dubstep pizza party and a launch of a new monthly at Bar Standard; Sub.mission is continuing to bring us only the best bass music has to offer from across the globe. So whether you’re a local bass head or you just moved here and you’re looking for something new, exciting and different; get your tickets and lace up your dancing shoes because November is about to seriously pop off.
