As the Fall seasons rolls along swiftly, November has finally arrived and what better way to welcome the month than with a sold out Electronic Tuesdays throwdown with the Denver debut of Troyboi, along with Subliminal, Castle Keys & more?!
Sub.mission has a huge month in store all month long and this past Tuesday night we kicked things off with a bang! The anticipation leading into Tuesday night’s show was at an all time high as Troyboi’s original Denver debut had been scheduled for June 30th and had to be postponed until this November date and he surely didn’t disappoint. Here’s how the night went…
The night began at 8:00pm with the October Winners Showcase battles in which selctors’ Goldyloxx, Mohntee, and Siren made their Electronic Tuesdays return to battle it out once again and see who would emerge as the battle champion for the month of October. Each of these 3 DJ’s had won their previous battles at Electronic Tuesdays during the month of October and all 3 acts brought their A-Game in this final face-off. The E-Tuesdays crowd came out early and found their home on the dance floor as we were surely in for a treat! Each act showcased their own unique style and had the audience moving from beginning to end and after a heated battle, ‘Siren’ won over the crowd and judges to snatch the victory and be crowned the battle champion of the month of October. Siren approached the stage with a fearless attitude and got straight to business unleashing true underground dubstep sound with plenty of UK Grime in the mix. The flames from the lighter crew illuminated the night and the true heads paid homage to the sound she brought forth.Her flawless mixing abilities performed on a combination of vinyl and digital platforms were impressive and she set the tone early in the night and her battle championship was very well deserved.

(Eyediola Photography)A sea of both new and familiar faces crowded the dance floor and packed out Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom shoulder-to-shoulder as soon as Sub.mission resident DJ Subliminal took the stage. Known as one of the most experienced and well-rounded DJ’s on the Sub.mission roster of residents, Subliminal has just what it takes to get the crowd going and take things to the next level. His triple-deck mixing abilities and forward thinking track selection combine to deliver memorable performances that are packed with underground UK styles and on Tuesday night Subliminal educating the crowd with proper sound. Tunes like ‘Under The Dancing Feet’ by Clouds and ‘Numbskull’ by AxH were among some of my favorite tunes that Subliminal rinsed out that night and to see Subliminal live in the mix is always a treat.

Next up it was time for the highly awaited Denver debut of Troyboi hailing all the way from London. Troyboi has been making some serious waves internationally and throughout the last year he has emerged as one of the industry’s top upcoming talents and is known for his versatile and unique tunes that blend classic Hip-Hop with modern-day Trap influences. His style is not exclusive to a single genre and Troyboi makes his presence felt when he’s behind the decks. Upon taking the stage, the artist spent zero time messing around and unleashed classic Hip-Hop tunes ranging from Ludacris’ ‘Move Bitch’, ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ by Snoop Dogg, and ‘Still DRE’ by Dr. Dre. After seeing Troyboi perform it was clear to see that the majority of his influences stem from 90’s era Hip-Hop and they play a major role in the sound he is composing today. From beginning to end, Troyboi had the crowd on their feet and the dance floor was completely packed out with one of the rowdiest of audiences. He closed out his set with his new tune ‘Afterhours’ featuring Nina Sky & Diplo and the crowd couldn’t get enough.

Next up it was time for the one like Castle Keys to take the stage and close out the night with a bang and keep the vibe flowing until the very end. Castle Keys was the perfect closer for this massive night and his Hip-Hop/808 sound kept the crowd dancing and the bass thumping. Castle Keys has an extensive and diverse track selection comprised of classic dance floor bangers as well as original productions. His style is both new and refreshing and in my opinion, there couldn’t have been a better act to close out this massive night in sound. Big ups to Castle Keys!
