December is already well under way and its no doubt that Sub.mission is bringing you an exciting and diverse lineup every Tuesday this month. This past Tuesday was no exception with the return of Biome to Cervantes Other Side. Having been one of my favorite sets from the music festival Shambhala this past summer, I was eager to see him back here. Not only did we have Biome but local badmen Binary and Caustik were on support and there sets were nothing short of brilliant. Here's a little glimpse into what you missed from the night.
The night started with our local Dj battles as usual and all the contenders brought the heat to warm up the crowd. The Dj battles are a great way for local producers to get there names out there to the people and it's always fun to see the local talent that Denver has. Battlers this week were Sassfactory, Djeww, ILL Kid, and Shaman. The best part about the battles is each battler has thirty minutes to show the crowd what they got and usually each have their own unique interesting sound or style they play so this past Tuesday featured a little dubstep, jungle, and a range of different sounds. Each of them delivered great sets but it was ILL Kid who took the win this night! Congrats to him and you can catch him again in the winners showcase for December which happens at the first Electronic Tuesday of every month, so the first ETuesday in January will feature that!
Next up we had Binary on the first support slot and his set was much needed, perfect blend of deep dubstep and minimal sound and I loved it. He's got some sounds out on the Encrypted Audio label based out of the U.K which also has a couple other local Denver producers and its always great to see these guys on support for any show. Seeing these local Denver producers and dj's making some serious moves in music is really inspiring. All of them work so hard and Binary is no exception. Big ups to him for delivering some tunes the other night.
Finally it was time for Biome to step up and he sure did deliver as I expected. His set was filled some really massive tunes for a solid two hour set with a blend of different styles. I was very much impressed once again with the man. Hailing all the way from Manchester in the U.K he really knows how to blend the sounds from over there well so its always a treat having a really talented international act to grace the stage in Denver. Biome easily had one of my favorite sets the last couple months and it is crazy to think how lucky we are to get all these talented producers to come through here. Lastly we had local favorite Caustik on the decks and as usual he ended the night proper with some serious bangers and favorite tunes of mine! Its always a pleasure to see Caustik up there. He knows how to get a crowd interested and keep them locked in with always mixing it up in his sets, I really love that about him.
Massive thanks to everyone who came out and danced with us the other night. Its always a pleasure to see the happy faces on the crowds faces when there really enjoying the music and I love that week after week we can be that place for people to come and really let loose. Don't forget next week we have Leon Switch so do not miss out on that one! Going to be a massive night next week!
