The dubstep scene over the last few years has seen a wild rollercoaster of highs and lows but the community of people who truly love and support the music and art is thriving and stronger than ever. After so much change in the music over the last few years, many of the key players in the game have been making a large effort to return to the roots of the sound that made us all fall in love. Exploring the constantly changing sonic soundscapes while still holding true to the OG style is ultimate goal of the upcoming two night frenzie with the one and only Cookie Monsta. 
Known world wide to practically anyone who has been supporting the dubstep sound, Cookie Monsta aka to the government and his mum Tony Cook has been bringing fresh, hard hitting aggressive sounds to audiences both out of the studio and during live sets since the birth of the project back in 2010. Residing in Nottingham he studied music technology in college back in 2007 after years of inspiration screwing around on Music 2000 for Playstation. He eventually began producing music on Reason and instantly fell in love, and the rest as they say is history. Raised on UK Grime and Drum and Bass he already had a hitch for the “helter skelter” disorderly aspect of the electronic realm which helped him to sail smoothly into the dubstep world.
The first official releases from Cookie Monsta back in 2010 were the classic tunes Ginger Pubes and Blurgh marking the beginning of a massive new name in the scene to be reckoned with. After catching waves worldwide he was quickly snatched up by Circus Records one of largely recognized labels put together by Flux Pavilion among many artists like Datsik, Dr. P, and Funtcase only naming a few. It was not long before he was on air at the Circus Takeover for GetDarkerTV helping to spread his name and sound further to ears everywhere. After years of traveling and playing music world wide, he has stock piled an unfathomable amounts of tunes up his sleeve to wreck the place at any club he takes over. If downright dirty dubstep is what you love, Cookie Monsta will not leave you disappointed. With the intention to bring the wobbles back to dubstep and bring people back to the old school dubstep vibes these two sets are something that you will surely not want to miss out on.
If two nights with this renowned name is not enough to get you out headbanging in the dance, it should be noted that for both appearances he will be joined with the legendary MC Rod Azlan. Hailing from Kent in the United Kingdom, he is one of the largest recognized and highly respected MC’s in the dubstep community. Working with the likes of Caspa, Emelkay, and many others whenever he is a guest on a tune it is almost always an instant classic. He is featured in one of the most highly regarded songs ever, Ruffhouse by the one and only Mr. J:Kenzo. He is the voice on the acclaimed Caspa and Rusko Fabric 37 mix which interestingly Cookie Monsta cites as one of the original mixes that inspired him to begin crafting uptempo dubstep bangers. Having Rod Azlan in America is already a rarity in itself but alongside Cookie Monsta this is truly going to be a once in a lifetime experience. 
Honoring and spreading knowledge of the past, present, and future of dubstep seems to be a major theme of Sub.Mission moving into the new year and the unique lineup of each night has been hand selected to represent this motif. The first night at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins Cookie Monsta will be joined alongside Sub.Mission residents and local badmen Subliminal and Sektah as well as Wadada. Night two at Cervantes we will have not only Swayd and CurlyOne on the decks, but it will be a co-headliner event with Sub.Mission favorite Gilbert Splett playing as his two aliases for a Grimblee VS Hecka experience; simply meaning he will have free reign to his entire catalogue of music for a no holds bar set playing whatever the hell he wants. The lineup for both nights is intended to bring the crowds a full experience of everything dubstep has to offer from deep meditative sounds to room shaking rumbling wonky tunes to get everyone bouncing. Anyone attending can expect a night of not only amazing music but the opportunity to learn about and experience first hand the different aspects of this expansive underground dubstep world. 
Since the rise of dubstep to the masses, Cookie Monsta has been a dynamic house hold name synonymous with the back breaking bass face conducive style that keeps fans wanting more. He has had a massive career and has no plans of slowing down with the goal of eventually playing a rave on the moon. Having him in the mile high state is going to be a perfect way to kick off an exceptional 2016 with a bang! Each of shows will be the first appearance at both the Aggie and the legendary Cervantes Masterpeice Ballroom. Alongside Rod Azlan and the particular lineups for each night, these will be nights for the record books.
